Q&A: What are the best books for independent learning on care car and repair?
I have very little knowledge about how cars work, but I want to change that. I’m looking for some books that clearly explain car workings and maintenance. Any suggestions?

The first thing you should read is the owner’s manual for your own car. Then go to your local book store and browse through the shelves for automotive books. As outrageous as it seems, there is probably a book called ‘auto maintenance for dummies’ that would be a good source of information.

Here’s one for you….
I read an article many years back about a bloke driving his Rolls Royce…
The tail shaft suddenly broke and his local mechanic refused to touch it because Rolls Royce has got a life time warranty so they had to get a certified Rolls Royce mechanic in to fix it..
After it was all fixed he got on to Rolls Royce to thank them for the work they did…
Rolls Royce said they didn’t know what he was talking about….
You must be mistaken they said…
