I am a sixteen year old girl with a dream to become a semi-truck driver… Any tips on how to get there?

No speeding tickets yet, but I don’t drive – as of yet. What are the future steps I should take? Thanks in advance.
Besides going to truck driving school. Already planning on that, although thanks for mentioning it. Know any good ones?

look in ur local news paper or phone book find a trucking company which many of them offer free schooling and or paid schooling to become a truck driver

Answer by lilbit
They have truck driving school, you should probably join when you’re old enough whenever that is probably 18.

Answer by broken
I would think you will have to wait til you are 18 at least. Then just call a numbet on the back of a trucking line! They all advertise for drivers on the back of the trucks.

first think of getting a permit for a normal car, study your state drivers manual, take practice online tests, then go to your local DMV center and take the test for the permit.

Study the CDL book while you’re waiting for the appropriate age to drive a semi and keep the driving record clean.

You beed to be 21 I think, have a medical certificate and take and pass the written and practical test. Go to your DMV and get the CDL manuals and study them.

Pick out a good truck-driving school, the instructions and diploma will be invaluable.

I dont know what the age is to do this, but you might have to be 18. Go to a truck driving school in your area. That’d be the place to start. Look in the yellowpages.com or online and you should be able to find some in your area.

After you get your HS diploma, there are schools you can attend specifically to learn to become a truck driver.

The career opportunities for truck drivers are growing! The pay is getting better, too. Your future looks very bright.

Hi my name is Sara and my husband is a truck driver. The best place to start is looking up on the internet the closest truck driving school near you. You have to have at least a four-six week course. However, by law you have to be at least 21 to drive trucks. So be sure to finish high school first.

you have to wait till you are 18 to be able to do anything, there are truck driving schools all over but they arent cheap and if you go thru a company you arent looking to make anything really for the first year or so. being a trucker is a hard thing. alot of companys want someone with over the road experience of at least 2 years. you have to like to drive and not mind not being able to shower everyday because you are always on a schedule. i was a truckers wife but i know that life wasnt for me.

As soon as you are 21 start hanging around the truck stops.

First thing is to come out of the closet. Find a nice, rough trick named Judith and live on a ranch with her and her husky dog.

.. oh and look into getting your CDL (commercial driving license).

You need to find another dream!! Set your sights way higher unless you like bad food, high gas prices, and getting hit on by a bunch of male truck drivers who are away from their wives or girl friends………

Get a manual trans car so you get comfortable with shifting even before truck driving school. Learn to shift without the clutch, especially downshifts.
