Question: What is the best brand of car audio equipment?
I’ve recently purchased a 2003 Lexus es300 and wanted to know what type of speakers and subs to put in it. I’m not trying to spend too much, but I am trying to get some good sound. What’s the best brand of car audio I could buy that is truly worth its cost? Suggestions?

Its really a matter of opinion. There are a lot of the names in the higher ups.

But if your looking for a decent price to sound ratio go for pioneer.

Unless your amping them you probably won’t notice the difference between those and a set of 200 dollar ones

I’d say if your looking for the best brand of car audio go with McIntosh. McIntosh has been around since 1949, It’s a trusted brand.

Well it all depends,
that is like asking “Whats the best food”. Everyone has their own favorite.

I own a car audio store, and a warehouse. I love some brands with no “big” names and don’t like a lot of “big” brand names.

Also, the best WILL, cost you.

for subbwoofers you have tons and tons of company’s who are producing high end, high performance products.

Some great subwoofers are:
MTX Audio 7500 series subbwoofers. They sound great, and are crystal clear.

Memphis Audio’s CM Cast woofers. Deep and powerful bass with out the headache of distortion that usually comes with volume displacement.

Image Dynamics offers the IDQ & ID Max subwoofers, they are powerful, clean and clear. However you MUST be a seasoned installer to know how to correctly utilize them.

Rockford Fosgate also offers a powerful killer products, however just like MTX audio, they will require tons of power.

I also own a Lexus. I have two Memphis audio CM Cast woofers with an M-class Amplifier. M-Class component speakers being used as the front sound stage, as well as M-Class component speakers for the rear fill. I also added two 8″ M Class woofers in each door panel and have 1 M-Class amp pushing those. I have the stock navigation system in that car, with a RE-Q5 to be able to utilize the factory head unit and a Memphis EQ in the glove box. I also have a 10 farad xtatic batcap and 0G Memphis cables.

If you don’t want to spend too much, I would suggest

Memphis Audio PR Components in the front
Memphis Audio PR Separates in the rear
Memphis Audio PR 45 watts X 4 for the speakers
Memphis Audio PR 500.1 for the subwoofers
Memphis Audio PR Subwoofers

This is middle of the road type equipment. It will outperform anything that is entry level from another brand with the same price break.
