If you’ve never detailed the car I suggest you do it by hand and not using a polisher as you might damage the paint job.

Simply wash the car. Then apply wax to one panel at a time, wait for it to haze over then simply wipe clean with a cotton cloth. Repeat. Ideally you want to do this in shade so that the car is not hot.

First, wash the car.

Then dry.
Then wipe any remaining dirt on the car.

Then use the wax. Wait 15 minutes after applying the wax.
After that 15 minutes passes by, wipe the wax off. Do not use water. Just the wipe.

For the wheels, buy tire shine and wheel cleaner from Walmart or Pepboys or Autozone or Advanced Auto parts. And use them to clean the wheel and tire.

first and foremost do this in a garage do not do this in the sun.. there are some waxes/polishes that say ok in the sun such as poorboys but its not for amatuers.. if this is something your gonna be doing often i suggest you buy the porter cable 7424.. its very easy to use and almost fool proof.. a lot of online detailing supply companies offer beginner kits that include the machine and all the supplies you will need go to http://www.autogeek.net and you can find everything you will ever need and all the steps you should take in detailing your car

one last thing.. its going to take some time to find the right steps and products for your car but once you do youll enjoy detailing it every couple of months..
