Neon/led Glow Accessories For My Car-legal Or No?

I live in Iowa.
My question is, is it legal for me to have:
*Glowing turn signal arrows on my rear view mirrors
*Interior neon glow lights (by driver’s and passenger’s feet area in front)
I know under glow kits are illegal so I was wondering if these other things were, as well.
Thanks!

Well, if push comes to shove, generally ANYTHING that wasn’t an original equipment factory option for that vehicle would be considered illegal, and they can usually fall back to that rule if they need to..
This only applies to the vehicle while it is in use, meaning that you can do anything you like to it while it is parked or on private property.
However, most of the go-no go criteria for the interior light would be this: If the light is NOT visible from outside the car you can do anything you want, but if it is, it shouldn’t be on while the car is in motion.
Regarding the turn light the issue will be color and visibility. If they’re red or yellow, they’re fine. If there not and they’re not visible from outside, your fine. If they’re not red or yellow and they ARE visible from outside, they’re not legal.
Some details may vary state to state, but these facts are a pretty good guideline for you.
To add: The indicator light’s color is touchy, wouldn’t really know without seeing it, but generally, they probably wouldn’t be too bothered with an “extra” indication of turning.
As for the under vehicle lights, well, seeing the bulb is a definite no-no, but the reflective light may be interpretive to the “letter” of the particular state law.
From experience I can tell you that most police won’t like them on if you’re driving. If you do have them on and get pulled over, just be nice and turn them off. If you are forced to get an inspection (never seen that happen to someone who treated the traffic officer with respect, but…) then just disable the lights when you go in (pull the fuse or whatever)

The LED underbody lights is 100% illegal. I have asked a friend who is a CHP in Los Angeles area.

However it is ok to have it, just not to turn it on during driving. When you have your car parked, you can turn the light on.
