This Section Gang Vehicle is a Fairway Railway Motors A6-F Model, constructed new for the Morristown & Erie Railroad, circa 1956. The unit weighs around five,100 lbs, is just beneath 10 feet extended and has a seating capability of six-9 employees. The M&E trackworkers depended on motor automobiles all through the very first half of the final century to help in creating repairs to the track, roadbed, and upkeep of facilities. This Gang Automobile could be noticed traveling along the M&E, towing its trailer loaded with replacement ties, spikes and other operate gear. Numbered TC-1 in the 1980s by the M&E, this small perform vehicle was destined to faithfull serve its owners for almost 47 years just before becoming retired and placed on public show.

Poor banged up old red tram vehicle, now wrapped up!

The old red auto was really banged up from final week’s storm. All the windows had been smashed and the assistance bars within had been all thrown about. The outside paint was scraped off from the fliping around on the rocks. Tram maintenance wrapped it up and pushed it back…too numerous folks had been stopping and blocking the road to take images. No idea what will transpire to it.

Typical road crew— If you don’t maintain it, you won’t have it to use! Ever hear of the "standing derailments" on the PennCentral? The rails would just spread under a stopped train and drop it on the ground. yikes.
Oh gosh, the poor Penn Central! What a mess that railroad was — but many others were almost as bad in the 60′s and 70′s.
