I was taking the photo in the same general space as the next "through the window" shot, but this one really reflected back out to the car parked in front and the street, etc. The red cooler in foreground inside the garage is an old Coca Cola accessory.

For the past 3 years I have been in charge of all things design related at Griffin Technology (www.griffintechnology.com). Griffin is the world’s largest maker of iPod accessories. During my tenure there I was fortunate enough to be intimately involved in the design, development and manufacturing of over 100 products. Now I am in search of a new opportunity.

This photo represents a few of the products that I was more closely involved with. Zoom in close and see how many you have owned icon biggrin Ghostly Gas Sky Chief

I took this picture to post on my Coroflot portfolio page (http://www.coroflot.com/robertsdonovan) to represent the breadth of my involvement at Griffin. Lacking any kind of studio lighting, the original capture was pretty lackluster (see below). So, I turned out the lights in the garage and did a little long exposure light painting with an LED flashlight. I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

Now, if only I had gotten Nicolas to help with the staging….

I have owned far too many of the accessories, and still use a couple of them.

The first shot is certainly the best

Wow, great picture. That is a very cool job you have yourself! Almost like designing a car and seeing it driven all around, you design sweet tech accessories and see them being used…

Andrew, cool job I HAD. Hopefully I will land in a similar place for the next chapter of my career. Stay tuned ;-)

BTW, I noticed that you are using a Griffin PowerJolt for your iPhone. The version you are using was one of the first products I designed at Griffin. Unfortunately, I gave the last one I had away and only had the newer version for this photo.

    Ah, that’s okay.

Why yes, I am. Haha, that’s a bummer. You can buy it off me if you’d like and retake the picture. I’ll sell it to you for…

    $50.
    Fair? That’s up to you…

Way to get creative with the lighting. Much better than the first. And congrats on all of your Griffin work. I hope in time I can look back at my days with Griffin with similar success. Best of luck with whatever new opportunity you take.

Pretty cool portfolio and great picture (the first one)!. I have an ipod (my second one) and I got free some griffin FM radio transmiter, which I’ve never used. Best of luck on your new journey!

Hey it’s quite an accomplishment! You must be so very proud everytime you walk down the isles in a shop seeing your own "babies". :)
