My first car was a hand-me-down 1975 Dodge Dart. It had a Slant Six engine, automatic, 4 doors, and bench seats. It was in terrible form, my stepfather really neglected it, so I cleaned it up, got it on a typical upkeep schedule, and extra a decent stereo and foglights. I got in trouble when I washed the hubcaps in my mom’s dishwasher. Note the tacky whitewalls. Photo taken circa 1983-84 out window of my then stepfather’s house.

In order to do maintenance on the front of the engine you should put the front of the car into "service position." In this position the entire front of the automobile is hanging off, linked only by the coolant hoses, AC hoses and wiring harness.
