I want my own dog SO BAD!
I was thinking..
What if I started being VERY responsible?
I know I have alot of animals but most of them are small/Low maintenance (Most are in cages)
Being responsible:
Clean room
Wash car
Clean bathroom
Vaccum
Take EXTRA good care of my other pets!
What do you think?
THANKS!
A: it depends on the reason they dont want one
what kids in the US seem to fail to realise is, not only do their parents know a dog is a lot of responsibility, that they not the kid will be owning and have to pay for
but also rigth now US is having a sligth financial crisis, a lot of people are loosing their homes, are you sure that your parents can aford a dog? are you sure that they aint already strugeling to just keep a roof over your heads and not loose your house?
i think you should do all those things anyway without absoloutly expecting anything back atm, a lot of people have it though atm, and it will help your parents if they already are stressed to get some relif
A: You can’t make the comparison between a caged pet and a pet that needs attention, supervision and training. If they have already said no drop the issue.
All the things you listed you should be doing ANYWAYS not because you want to be rewarded with a dog. That is not showing responsibility its manipulation.
You want to show your parents you can be responsible? Give up anything extra that you have so your parents can afford the extra strain on their wallets. School will be starting soon so not after school stuff until the dog is house trained. Offer your allowance towards the pet bills; food vet etc.
Actually research what breed you want. A real breed not a mutt unless you plan to adopt from a shelter.
once you have the dog
-no whining when the dog has an accident just clean it up
-feed it without having to be told to
-if you notice something wrong Do not for the love of the powers that be jump on here. Tell your parents and then contact a vet
-If buying from a breeder, do your homework on what a good breeder is and what questions to ask
-walk the dog without grumbling
-Do not get the dog if you have no intention of taking him with you once you are old enough to move out on your own for college or whatever else.
-You want this dog then when you are 18 the dog goes with you and continues to be YOUR responsibility
A: Aw, lol. I’m sure that’d work…. I dunno though… I never really had to do all that when I was a kid… I just brought animals home. My mom would be mad as hell, too…. but what can she do besides get over it? she doesn’t have the heart to throw a baby outside.
I think maybe picking up extra responsibilities around the house may help, too…. you know like things you aren’t “obligated” to do…. I don’t know how many animals you own or who they belong to but maybe you could help out with those, too?
Maybe cleaning up the yard?
good luck!!!!!!!!!
A: If you “all of a sudden” start being responsible, your parents will see it is a ploy to get a dog and will most likely not agree because you might slip back into old habits.
You are already suppose to be taking good care of your pets.
Show them that you are responsible and in 6 months or so ask them then.I know you’re anxious, but patience is a key(especially when it comes to a new puppy).
A: Definitely a good start – but if your parents have consistently said no to you having a dog, you really need to find out why. if it’s because they think you will get bored and quit looking after him, then taking good care of the pets you have will definitely help. However, if they are concerned for financial reasons (dogs are expensive to own – even without vet bills), then it may have to wait until you are old enough to help out with money. If they just don’t like dogs – then you may have to resign yourself to waiting until you leave home. Don’t fret too much if that’s the case – you’ll have a great long life in which to fulfil your dog ownership dreams!
A: I don’t think it will work dear. You can not convince your parents to do anything…it just doesn’t work that way. Maybe when you are a bit older you can offer to volunteer at a local shelter and help out with the dogs. This will show your parents how mature you’ve become and you will get to see/play with many dogs…it’s a win win situation.
A: Usually works in trailer parks.
Great going
This effort should be worth at least 5 pitbull puppies!!!
(under 4 weeks of course)
Late Entry : some people thrive on shitponts given by idiots.
A: That would work, but do not get your hops up. Just talk it out. And do not get to upset if they say no. You can always wait sometime.
A: You’d better hope you have the two stupidest parents on the planet. Suddenly being responsible won’t show them that you’re ready for a dog, especially if it’s really just an act.
A: You should talk to your parents and tell them you are proven responsible and will be able to take care of all your pets!!
I think it will work!:)
That depends – why did your parents say no?
good start.
