Dash Mats–: Water spilling on to floor mats in 2000 Misubishi Mirage?
Condensation is dripping onto the driver and passenger side floor mats. It seems to be leaking from a black box under the dash but I don’t know what’s causing it or how to fix it. I live in Arizona and use the AC everyday and I had this same problem last year. The spilling started yesterday, a day after it started getting humid here, maybe preparing for rain? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

ac condensor is leaking (or something to do with the ac) might just be sweating from the ac.
take it to the mechanic.

Check the drain hose on the fire wall and see if it is stopped up if so take some soap and clean it out , Also make sure that the hose is connected to the A/C on the inside for drainage, hope this helps.

Maybe check into the heating core… I had to replace mine in my Mitsubishi Diamonte… It was very expensive.

check and see if your drain tube is melted together or clogged.

If it is just water there isn’t really anything you can do to stop it other than don’t use the ac. As long as it isn’t putting so much water that it could soak down to the metal under the carpet you can just ignore it. With so much heat it should evaporate before it would mildew.

The drain tube is probably plugged take it in and get it cleaned

There is a drain hose or channel for water that condenses onto the evaporator to drain onto the road outside. It is plugged . Clean it out or have a shop put it on the lift and clean it out!

I would check the drain hose first if its not that sounds like u gotta leking heater core which is located in that black box your talkin about

This is a 1952 Desoto 4dr custom Sedan. It is an S-15 Series. The car is lite green. The car appears to be original and in decent condition for age. There are areas that the paint is faded and shows wear and has chips and cracks. The trim is decent but there is some pitting in some areas. The car has a Green visor. Possible Bondo in a few areas on the body- mainly noted on the grill body area and below decklid. the car has a flathead 6 cylinder motor with 3 speed on the column manual transmission. the motor was stuck and has some valves that need work, it did try to turn over. The interior is in decent condition. It has a brown cloth seat and brown carpet. there are green floor mats. the dash and door panels have a faux wood grain. The dash is in good condtion. The car has a radio. There are 78,447 miles on the odometer. The interior is in decent condition and appears to be original. This would be a good car for any collection or a clean car for rod or further restore.
