Employing ring clamps, remove the internal ring clip which holds the seal in spot. Utilizing a screw driver or punch pin, very carefully remove the seal by hitting it with a heavy hammer. You may only want to tap it to get rid of it. Don’t do what I did and use a rubber mallet, you are going to get nowhere. Take care not to scratch the side walls of where the seal sits. Clean all surfaces and remove any gasket maker material on the mating surface of the cover.
