Check and change the air, oil, and gas filters. Check the oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, antifreeze, and power steering fluid. Top off as needed.

Answer by John
Air Filter about every 15k
Transmission Fluid and Filter every 30k or 3 years
Coolant Flush every 30-50k or 3 years
Oil Change every 3k/3 months
PCV every 30k
Plugs/Wires every 50-80k (those 100k intervals can be quite…misleading)
Oxygen Sensor(s) 80-100k (Heated (3+ Wires)) 30k (Non-Heated (One Wire))
Seafoam in your gas tank every oil change as an additional injector and valve cleaner in addition to only using top tier fuels.

Throughout the rest of this website you’ll find in-depth articles describing in intricate detail how everything automotive works. On this page, I’ve simplified all that knowledge into a series of basic car maintenance tips, subdivided by category. Some tips have simple explanations right here whilst others link back to the articles in the rest of the site. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, try the search button at the end of the top menu. If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, or have a suggestion for something else I should cover, contact me using the contact button on the top menu bar. Brake dust contains all sorts of nasty stuff. If you leave it too long, the combination of road grime, moisture and heat from your brakes will bake it on to your wheels. Brake dust normally clings to wheels with static electricity so a damp sponge and clean cold water is the best way to get it off.
