1980 Pontiac Trans Am – First Car?

i saw an ad for one for $3900cdn, its in great shape, it was stored in a garage for 99% of its life so it only has 25k km on it.
im 19, buying my first car. is this a good one to get as a first? i need something that wont cause expensive problems for a few years, is reliable on the high way and isnt high maintenance. i know its not good on gas, but how bad on gas is it? i dont mind spending an extra $30 a month to have something this badass if thats all it is.
here is the ad with all the other information

also, from my understanding pontiac is going out of business and this car will be considered a classic next year. will that mean it will just go up in value if i take care of it?

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Don’t get it, it likely is going to be unreliable, get atrocious gas mileage and it will be slower than your friends’ Toyota Camrys just because the late 70s and 80s were bad years for almost any car.

Get the Trans Am. Yes Pontiac is gone but GM will have the parts made forever. Classic restoration is big money for them.
I checked the car out. No T tops but its still a V8.
